Faith and Unity Commission
This commission provides an opportunity for representatives of the various churches with particular theological expertise and ecumenical experience to come together. In the past the commission has looked at issues such as ecumenical worship, producing a set of guidelines.
In 2008 the Faith and Unity Commission produced a short brochure on the subject of "packaged" courses for congregations, asking some fundamental questions. It is entitled "Which Program? What Course?".
The Church Towards a Common Vision
The Faith and Unity Commission of Queensland Churches Together completed work on a 24-page study guide on the World Council of Churches document ‘The Church Towards a Common Vision’ in November 2015. The Commission trusts that use of this document will move us towards the two stated objectives of renewal and theological agreement.
The guide was in the first instance received by the local Anglican Ecumenical Committee, which suggested the project. The Faith and Unity Commission is pleased to note that the National Council of Churches in Australia will use the study guide as part of its pre-conference session in June 2016, thus receiving nationwide attention. They would also be happy to see its use promoted locally wherever appropriate.
