Train to be a QDCN Disaster Chaplain
QDCN have scheduled nine training sessions for disaster chaplaincy in different parts of the state
The training is being offered to anyone who holds an ordination with their denomination or an accreditation with a chaplaincy organisation. This training is approved by councils and the state government and will give chaplains the permission needed to be able to be deployed into evacuation and recovery centres after natural disasters. Additionally, councils are also calling on QDCN trained chaplains to attend crisis situations like the Russell Island House Fires, the Wieambilla Police Shooting, and the Stabbing of the women at Redbank Plains. This has been an incredible opportunity to minister to people who would never walk through the doors of our churches.
The first training sessions will take place in Redlands next month, followed by Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Chinchilla, Bundaberg, Longreach, Sunshine Coast and Gympie.
