The Gift of Each Other
Learning From Other Christians

"Receiving each other is a gift from God. To receive each other as a friend in Christ brings us closer to God. We see Christ in our friends. We see Christ in the friendship that God had established between brothers and sisters." - Shenouda, Coptic priest

This booklet is a workbook on the topic of receptive ecumenism and is meant to be used in small groups in parishes, ideally ecumenical groups. The booklet is bullet around the responses from people through Australia to the question: what have you learnt from other Christian churches? The responses come from men women, young and old, and from people in a variety of ministries in the church.

Other than raising awareness of ecumenism in general and receptive ecumenism in particular, this booklet offers the opportunity for Christians to critically examine their own traditions and to learn from each other. No church is perfect as there is always the opportunity to improve practices and structures and perhaps even reclaim traditions that have been overlooked in the past.
